A engineer just happen to be there (for another vehicle at the shop) when I pulled the pan off. LB7 Duramax 2004. Broke the crank while towing. Here’s what it sounds like. If you think it might be a rod bearing, pull the filter cut it open, unroll the filter media and take a look for metal, you can also order an oil sample kit, take the sample send it in and it will also tell the tale, if its a bearing. Your going to have to check the ignition fuse and relay. Then you will need to see if there is power to the solenoid. With a test light you can check the BIG wire on the starter solenoid.
