I let it sting me, got the blurry confirmation of my poison, popped into my pip-boy, removed my armor and ran away until the poison wore off. Checking my stats, I noted that my Perception was still stuck at 1. So I donned the Poisoner's again, and let it hit me again, removed my Poisoner's chestpiece, ran, let poison wear off, checked stats.
