Another thought--I think you can unload the pistol, hold the slide completely to the rear while inserting and withdrawing an empty mag. and tell whether or not the side stop spring is functioning. It should drop the slide stop when the mag. is lowered. Sounds like your grip is pushing up on the slide lock.

Hi, New LC9s Pro owner. I have only run 50 rounds thru the new firearm, but have found that the slide release is extremely hard to push down. With the pistol empty, I have to move my hand around on the grip to get enough pressure to release the slide (using the knuckle, not the end of the thumb).LC9s slide stop problem/possible fix. Not sure how many rounds thru my LC9s, likely 4-500, and with the 7 round mag it started to fail to lock the slide back after firing last round. My 9 round mag still worked fine.
