Here's a DIY on how to remove the stock snorkel on a 2017 Ford Escape. This may differ or be the same for other models. First you will need to remove the wire that is running the hood mechanism. You can do this by pushing the wire through the top of the holder. Second, you need to remove the pins from the cover.

The driver side motor seems to making noises as it's trying to go back down. I don't hear any such noises from the passenger side motor.At first, I thought the switch was in the ON position, or I had misaligned the wipers during installation, but neither of those were the case. The wipers still cycle on once, every time the car is started even though the wiper control switch is in the OFF position.
