Polaris ranger will turn over but won.

Aug 13, 2023 · Reason 1: Weak or incorrect spark. Generally speaking the combustion reaction,won’t happen if your ATV has an improper or weak spark. Combustion reactions are what run your vehicle. Even if your Polaris sportsman cranks, a spark might not be strong enough to start. Generally speaking, sparks alone may have a lot of problems. There is a brake line with the switch attached. 2 wires on top. To test to see if the switch is working depress the brake and see if the brake lights come on. If they do this is not your problem. The starting system is the same on this as a car. Jump the solenoid or put power directly to the starter and see if it turns over then. If so then the solenoid is bad. If you do then you know your ignition is working. If you do have a spark then pour some gas down the cylander and put back plug and see if it fires. 2015 Polaris ranger 900 XP. It should pressurize the fuel system on the first turn of the key to on. From there it should hold pressure and the pump should run while cranking to keep pressure to the system. The only thing that appears to be getting power is the fuel pump. Battery is hooked up properly and there is juice to the solenoid but nothing from the switch.Hello. I have a 2018 Polaris Sportsman 570. Bought it used and everything seems perfect on it except starting. Half the time I go to start it the engine attempts to turn over but doesn’t. If I try again it turns over and fires up nicely. Some times I have to try a couple times to start it and then it starts.Oct 8, 2013 · 58 posts · Joined 2012. #24 · Oct 9, 2013. fuel pump will be relay controlled which the ecm turns on, there is a couple second prime when key is turned on and once an rpm signal is sent to ecm fuel pump runs constantly. it's likely you have a poor ground to ecm, just need to rule that out first then go from there. Had to give it a shot of starting fluid to start. Used the ranger several times with no problem starting. Ranger started normal today after sitting for over 24 hours.

I recently ran my 2008 Polaris Ranger 500 without oil for about 10 minutes; I was unaware of the problem until the engine noise became very loud and it died. There was probably 30-45 seconds of run time from the time the engine noise level increased until it died. Take a pair of bare metal handled pliers and jump across the solenoid that is just to the rear and below the drivers seat. Be careful, as it will start in any gear without pressing the brake pedal. If the battery is good, and it doesn't turn over at that point, then the starter motor has failed, likely from a bad front bearing. F.It cranks good but just won;t start. Probably have air in the fuel line not letting any fuel getting past, it will collect at the highest point.. If you have inline filter replace with a drill pump to suck fuel along pipe, or to force fuel back to tank, you will also need to fill the part that is post filter point. Apr 25, 2022 · You need to check the crank position sensor. Passenger side down at the motor. Could be a bad sensor....or chafed wires. Follow the wire harness up. 800's had horrible wire harness issues. Otb powersports for any replacements.

Then pull rhe 14 mm bolt on the top of the stator housing. You should see a timing mark on the stator. If you dont turn the cam gear one more revolution. I would give it a little gas and it would start back up most times. But some times I would have to let it sit for a few minutes and then it would start.
