Tivo remote not working with new batteries.

Yesterday, my Tivo (series 2) unit suddenly started 'ignoring' the remote. I changed the batteries in the remote, but still had the problem. The Tivo remote controls all the other components (TV and stereo) fine, so I know it is sending out a signal.
